New 21st century citizen

I would like to say that i have learned a lot more and have become more involved and interested in politics in this past year. Your average citizen may know a few facts here and their, but can they back it up with a illegitimate argument? This is something that is VERY important, well it should be. A up to date individual should know what they stand for and why, this is important because this determines whether you will be happy with the person who is running our country, state, counties, cities and towns. This is a big deal and should be, because this determines whether you will pay more in taxes, or less. This can also determine laws and will play a big role in our lives so make sure you excersice your right and vote for who you stand for, also you should know how to conserve and mange your finances. This is what i personally think that a informed citizen should know.

Elections

With the 2012 elections coming up, and most primaries and cacusus over with, its campaigning time. For most canidates its the time where they try hard but not to hard, they save their true stategy until the few months leading up the general election. The question has come up now, Do canidates deserve to use ALL the money they can get? or should they both get the same amount from the gonvernment to make it "equal?" Personally i believe what the canidates work for or who stands for them somewhat shows their ability to "win" voters.

Electoral college

I think the electoral college is fair and unfair at the same time, and like always said "life isn't fair".That's not how it always goes though, someone is bound to complain and wine when they don't get their way. Yes for the smaller states the electoral college makes everything fair, but for the big states it always takes away their fairness of being, well big.

Exam Question

What has brought on the recall of Scott Walker?

First things first i personally think that the recall was brought on, because of emotional thoughts rather then factual arguments. For instance i believe that unions need to realize that they get pretty good benefits to begin with, and that paying a little extra for their healthcare isn't such an unreal task. What some people just don't get is that  80 more or less percent of Wisconsin citizens pay for ALL of their health care; and that most private employers offer health care to their employees on their own dime. Now some may argue their pay check just still doesn't provide enough for this increase in healthcare dues, now id like to move on to other topics also. Next id like to target the deficit, For the first time in 40 years Wisconsin has defeated the deficit and even having a 300,000 dollar surplus, now if our governor is doing good for our state as a whole why would we recall him? He has done so much good for each and every person and is continuing to make the big decisions some politicians could not stand up to. This is what makes a governor a good one, He stayed true to his word so far and is trusted to continue moving Wisconsin forward. Walker has admitted that one thing he has done wrong so far, is not explained his policies well enough before putting them into effect. Scott walker openly apologized plenty of times to the state of Wisconsin, whether liberal or conservative that he will explain his policies and reforms more, and also to make them more fitted for each individual. Scott is all about moving forward and staying true to his beliefs, this is what brings him to us, us young people need to not only focus on today but realize that we have a big future ahead of us and we should be sure to pay attention to policies and reforms that will not only help us now but in the future. This is where i think so many people not only take it wrong, but don't really pay attention to the future. I think most people believe we need to focus on reforms to help us out now, and sadly kind of push our generation to the wayside in hoping we will figure it out. This election i think has brought and educated so many young people on what we need to pay attention to. So many young people believe that we need to get into gear and make our selves heard and also to be looked at as intelligent mature citizens, and i think that its great how many people got out and voted during this election, whether it was for the left or right, it boils down to people are learning to really excessive their right to vote. As Scott walker stated in his victory speech he wished the best for everyone and that he hopes to work with everyone, and congratulated everyone for getting out to vote.

Now id like to support some of this with facts such as property taxes lowered for the first time in 12 years on a median sized home.
Scott walker has also stimulated the economy by creating more or less then 23,000 jobs throughout Wisconsin without spending a penny.
Also the average state worker in Wisconsin made in 2009-10 was $74,844 and in 2010-11 was $76,500
Scott walkers collective bargening policy will save on average $30 million over a three month period

I am sincerely sorry and im not trying to be ignorant but i have been on almost every recall walker site and could not find any facts backing up the recall election if i have found any they were very opinionated which i listed in the paragraph above. Also i wish i could find it again but i can't, their was a graph showing general school numbers and finances, it showed class sizes were up, job employment was up, class scores were up, budgets were more open, and finances were taken care of. This graph was posted on the state school districts website until realizing that this did not help out with the upcoming recall election and took it down. I wish i could find more factual info with this subject but most of it is opinionated. Also id like to say i have a reason to lean more conservative, no not because of my parents, but because of my own beliefs and his reforms and policies will help me out one day, as i will be a small business owner myself. I will be taking over the family business with my brother.

Graphic analysis

I think that a libertarian might like that conservatives maybe want less government involvement, but likes that liberals generally wang to tax the rich more.

Electoral college

I think that the electoral college should stay the way it is, if it works leave it. People do not need to keep changing things that are better left to be. And even though life isnt fair the electoral college makes it fair for all states t.get their opportunnity to make their votes count, and represent their canidate. And if we didn't have the electoral college their could be chance that their could be a tie in votes. The electoral college also sometimes can work out to one canidates advantage

Blog 7

Personally i think where our rights are as of now are ok, although some restrictions should be withheld. I think alot of my interest goes with the 2nd amendment, alot of responsibility comes along with this right. For example some current news on NRA is that the .50 cal. rifle will be banned, because all of a sudden it is now seen as a terrorist wepon. Also the fact that an army national guard member fully trained can carry a fully automatic M16 but not conceal something as simple as a hand gun.
